Family Matters has a variety of great programs and services for new parents (and new again parents). Please see below for more info on some of these programs, also feel free to contact the centre for more info on other programs.

Breast Pump Loan Program

Family Matters offers a breast pump loan service that allows mothers to borrow a Purely Yours Breast Pump.  Donations for the use of the pump can be made, however, due to the THRIVE grant- we no longer have to charge a fee for use of the Pumps.  Please contact Family Matters 584-2210 or your Public Health Nurse to find out how to borrow one.

Baby Time

Times: Mondays 9:30 – 11:30 am in Lawrencetown

Baby Time is held once a week at Family Matters in Lawrencetown.  Once a month, we invite a guest speaker to attend to address an issue of concern for the adults in the group.  Another week during the month, we do something active with the families.  There will also be time set aside for chat time for the parents, creating crafts and for rhymes and songs to do with infants that are proven to improve attachment and promote early literacy.  Any older children will also be welcome, and we will have a playgroup operating at the same time across the hall from Baby Time. A chance for new parents to come together and learn from each other.
